Should Panthers Fire Fox?

I always hate to talk about things like this, but I think it's time to entertain the question of coach John Fox's future at Carolina. On the bright side, he took over a disastorous 1-15 Panther team and turned them into a pretty good team, becoming the only other coach since Vince Lombardi to take a one win team to a Super Bowl. The Panthers lost to the Patriots on a last second FG, but they still got further than any Panther team had in the past. Since then, Carolina has been to the playoffs each year from 2005-2008 in which they lost out before reaching the Super Bowl.

Now to the bad side. This season, the Panthers are 1-8 after a rout by Baltimore yesterday. Not only is Fox's coaching in question, but also his decision making. The team has since been lacking with regards to player choices. They unfortunately let Julius Peppers walk right away from the team by becoming a free agent. They did sign highly rated QB Jimmy Clausen from Notre Dame, but he's a rookie, so he probably won't be that good in the NFL at least until next year. They have also acquired Brian St. Pierre who just came in on a whim and had little practice with the team.

Like I said, I really hate talking about stuff like this, especially because it seems as though John Fox is an all around good guy; but with Vikings coach Brad Childress getting the ax today, I can only wonder if Fox will be next.
