Continuing The Fight

As you know by now many, including myself, have lashed out against the Republican regime in North Carolina for proposed cuts to higher education and many more issues.

In protest, I effectively shut down Reflections and wore red yesterday in support of higher education. Some of my fellow students took to the streets of Raleigh and protested the various issues; a few even being arrested by police.

I know probably none of you actually give a rat's ass about this issue (if you do great) but I'm very concerned with the path Gov. McCrory and the General Assembly is taking this state on. I predicted this sort of thing was going to happen. Now, bill by bill, I'm watching the state I love go down the toilet.

But you know what?

I want to say thank you. Thank you to those of you who voted for these people. Without you, I wouldn't be worried that I won't get a complete college education. Without you, I wouldn't be second guessing whether I should go to graudate school. Without you I wouldn't be concerned about how I'm going to pay off a $10k+ debt for my valuable education while others don't have to suffer.

I'm sick and tired of the government not listening to the student voice and making us suffer with these cuts. It's like we're two year olds or something. Why don't we get rich snobs to cough up a little more moola at tax time, huh? Bet that won't even be a passing thought in the minds of these "government officials" now will it?

This fight is far from over. If you don't agree with me, fine, but just think about my future every time you think I'm wrong.

See you down the "I told you so" road.
