Blooper Central

In honor of the new "Toy Story" coming out in theaters, I decided to post this video from Youtube. It's from "Toy Story 2" and it appeared at the end of the movie. It's pretty funny!

Are You Kidding? Part 3

Posted on 17:41 by Unknown
Just one day after giving my Oops Award to BP, I can now give my "insensible idiot award" to BP CEO Tony Hayward. Why? The man is dealing with the oil spill and he decides to take a day off and see his 50-foot yacht compete in a race off England's shore. Other BP execs came to his defense, saying that this was his first real break since the spill began and he just wanted to spend time with his family. Sure, everyone has the right to spend time with family, but what do you think is going on with the people in the Gulf? There entire livelihoods are being reversed because of this crap. They don't get the opportunity to attend a yacht race, eat caviar, or whatever else this guy's been doing.

This isn't the first time Hayward has drawn criticism for his actions. He angered many Americans when he was quoted in a London newspaper as suggesting that Americans were particularly likely to file bogus claims for compensation from the spill. He later shocked Louisiana residents by telling them that no one wanted to resolve the crisis as badly as he did because "I'd like my life back." I'm sure that, after this, CEO Hayward can add one more label to his name: unemployed.

More Stupidity

Posted on 18:44 by Unknown
Those "highly intelligent" people at BP (a.k.a. Broken Pipe) are still up to know good. This time, they restricted the media access to talk to some of the cleanup crews on the beach...even while they are on break. It has happened to CNN, ABC, and New Orleans station WDSU, among others. Reporter, Scott Walker, for WDSU tried to gain access to BP workers and interview them to get their thoughts on the cleanup process. He and his camerman were met by two "security guards," employed by BP, and were turned away. The only problem was, this was a public beach! In other words, they really had no say in where Walker could go on the beach. That's why this has become such a story.

Oh, and it gets even better. In a video of the incident, the "beach guards" went as far as to call the sheriff on the reporter, and guess what they said? Yep, they could not tell where the news crew could go on the beach. Now this is good journalism! Way to go Scott and your crew!

New Beginnings

Posted on 15:00 by Unknown
Just a few short years ago, I was walking in to high school as a Freshman. I was nervous, scared, and excited about what was to come. Today, June 10th 2010, I can say that I am a graduate of Northern High School! You know, it still hasn't quite set in for me. I can't believe where the years have all gone. Now, I will embark on new beginnings at NC State, but luckily I'll have many of my friends there with me to go along for the ride.

You know, God has really blessed me my whole life, but especially in the past few months. You will recall how angry and upset I was over not getting into UNC. Soon after that, my pastor preached a sermon on how God opens and closes doors for you and how you will learn His reasoning sometime later in life. Let me tell you, I know that God closed the door for UNC and opened one for NC State because everything has gone off without a hitch so far. When I applied to UNC, I had some issues with getting things in order and such; but with State, it has been a breeze. Better yet, thirteen or so Northern students are going to State, with seven of them being my friends. I'll even be in the same residence hall and suite as one of my best friends! If things had worked out as they should and I had gone to UNC, I would be over there with one or two friends and not so happy.

The point is that I have already learned why God shut the door for Carolina and opened this great opportunity at NC State. I am truly blessed. Having to leave my friends after graduation was the biggest fear for me, and God knew that. Now, I'm not saying that this was His only reasoning for letting me get into NC State, rather it was in His will that I go there. Today's ceremony wasn't a goodbye per se but a time to celebrate even more. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me in the future!
