Netflix, the popular movie rental service, spent what should have been its big debut in Canada apologizing to reporters. The company hired actors to act as ordinary, everyday people during a celebration up north. Here's the catch: the actors did interviews for reporters under false pretenses without the interviewers even knowing the difference. This sent outrage through the new outlets, leaving Netflix no choice but to apologize to the news reporters for their stunt. According to a spokeperson, the plan was only suppose to hype up the crowd for the arrival of Netflix's CEO and the company itself, but I think it only backfired on them. Not a great first impression, guys.
